Originally released in 1991 and designed by Tinker Hatfield, the Air Jordan VI is the first Air Jordan to be worn by MJ that he would win a championship in. Heel spoiler and cut outs in the tongue for easy entry, translucent portions of the outsoles, and the last of the Air Jordan's to have "Nike Air" visible on the outside of the shoe are some distinctive traits of the AJ VI. First retroed in 2000 and they sold very well. Nike released a "Midnight Navy" Retro plus colorway as well as an "Olympic" edition worn in Sydney by Vin Baker and Ray Allen. The "Infrared" and "Carmine" colorways remain the most popular as they were the colorways worn most by MJ.
