Released in 1996 to an already hyped up audience thanks to MJ's "Preview" in the 1995 Playoffs, Tinker Hatfield accomplished possibly his biggest task...convincing Nike to continue with the Air Jordan line. At the time, MJ was playing baseball in the minor leagues and Nike Top Executives felt "It was fun, but it's over now". Well, Tinker had other ideas about that. He designed arguabley the most recognizable Air Jordan in the entire line...."The Patent Leathers" they are often pointed out with affection by casual fans. The "Concord", "Space Jam", "Black & True Red", and "Cool Grey" are all among the most highly sought after to this day. New colorways like the "DMP" are also near the top on most collector's wish lists.
